Tell Me A Story with Hillary Rea
Everyone has a story to tell - whether it is about your own personal background and interests, or the story of your artistic work or organization. Tell Me A Story workshops cover the basic elements of storytelling that will help you get your fun, positive stories of your past endeavors out there—be it a presentation, performance, or water cooler conversation. Discover the key elements of your story and how to work them into the pressure of a time limit. Tell your true story through the lens of authentic humor. Explore ways to make intellectual and emotional connections within your story that drum up laughter. Achieve an instant audience connection. Discover the parts of your story that are essential for bringing your listeners along for the ride.
This three hour workshop is for artists and makers who want to tell the story of their creation. Bring in a photograph, an invention, your art, or an every day object that will help you generate material for a personal tale. Through group exercises and one-on-one coaching, each student will leave with a polished, 5 minute story ready to be told in front of any audience.
Please bring an object (your art, personal possession, a photo, etc.) to the workshop.
