Now that you’ve learned to knit, why not learn some new stitches patterns. In this workshop you will learn how to use basic knit and purl stitches to make ribs, seed, and eyelet patterns to set you on your way to making more complex designs.

Intro to Natural Dye

Learn natural dye for making creative fabrics and yarns. You'll learn about resist, dip and hand painting techniques from commercially available natural as well dyeing with botanicals from your very own kitchen including onion skins and turmeric. You will also learn technical skills like using mordents or binder and what effects they can have on your end result. You will leave with fabric and yarn samples for your use.

No experience necessary and all materials are included. Snacks and drinks will be served.

Knitting in the Round

Now that you're comfortable with knitting flat, let’s turn it ‘round! Knitting in the round is a great way to construct hats, mitten or gloves, cowls and even sweaters. This technique will open a whole world of patterns for your enjoyment. You’ll learn about the anatomy of stitches in the round, how to join the ends, and how to adapt stitch patterns to the round. By the end of the class you’ll be on your way to making a lovely hat!

Beginner knitting or equivalent required. All materials are included. Snacks and drinks will be served. Join us for Open Knit + Crochet Night for additional help finishing your project.

In this first class you will learn how best to hold the hook, the single and double crochet stitches, and increasing and decreasing.
