Join quilter and choreographer Susan Rethorst of REDHORSE Studio for an afternoon of hand quilting. Drawing on 42 years of quilting experience, Susan will walk you through the basics of making your own quilt, beginning with choosing/designing a pattern, and moving onto methods of assembly. The conversation in and around the work will encompass the history, the economics, and the social aspect of quilting. As a choreographer, Susan will also reflect on the similarities of quilting and choreographic thought. You will walk away with your own quilt block and an overall design concept for your quil project. Materials will be provided but you are encouraged to bring old clothes, scraps or any fabric you'd like to memorialize.
All material provided. Suggested donation for the class $5-$30 which benefits Redhorse Studio and The Art Dept.
