About YAP! Young Artist Program

Need something to do afterschool?

YAP! The Young Artist Program is a multidisciplinary artist residency for high school aged LGBTQ+ youth, attending schools in the Greater Philadelphia Area. The youth meet after school Monday-Thursday from 3p-6p and received snacks, homework help, college prep, personal guidance, and art instruction. This program offers the young artist mentorship by paring up other local artist that offer a wide range of artistic skill set by the artist leading workshops and demos. Each year the Y.A.P. attendees have a culminating exhibit of work created throughout the academic school year. The program is facilitated by teaching artist Carmel Brown, artist Sam Merkt from the Isonoma Foundation, and volunteers from CivicHouse.
